Assign a patent

When an inventor assigns a patent, they are permanently transferring all ownership rights to the patent to the assignee. Assigning a patent can be useful when an inventor wants to sell the patent or license it to another party. An inventor might also assign a patent as part of a business transaction, such as when a company is acquired.
