If an individual is employed by a company that is being taken over by another company, that individual's employment contract will transfer to the new company. This is known as the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006, or TUPE. The individual will want to be given a Notice of Change of Employer so that they are aware that their employer has changed and so that they can contact the new company if they have any questions.
