Responsibilities

1.1.In accordance with the Remote Access and Mobile Computing Policy, users of the Organisation’s mobile computing facilities are individually responsible for ensuring that their antivirus software is fully up to date. Similarly users of home computing equipment who have remote access rights to the Organisation’s internal systems must ensure that there is sufficient and current antivirus protection on their equipment.

1.1.The responsibility for issuing virus warnings lies with the Chief Technology Officer.

1.1.The responsibility for monitoring the relevant event logs and responding to incidents is outlined in the Organisation’s Network Systems Monitoring Policy.

1.1.The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for selecting and deploying antivirus software for use on the Organisation’s servers, PCs and laptops, and for arranging the necessary updates.

1.1.All of the Organisation’s employees are responsible for making a vigilant and responsible contribution to the Organisation’s defences against malicious software. Suspected infection must be immediately reported to the Chief Technology Officer.
